Colorado River –

Flow: 2,090 cfs/Glenwood Springs

Conditions: Unpredictable with the beginnings of runoff now here. Colder evenings have yielded surprisingly clearer and lower water conditions than normal for this time of year. Currently about 2’ ft of water-vis is present with a clear/brown tint. Our next heat wave or two will certainly discolor the water more making fishing difficult at best. That being said, typical high-water/runoff flies like stoneflies, caddis, green drake nymphs, cranefly larva and streamers are fishing best.

Flies

Dries: Chubby Chernobyl, Foamulators, Stimi’s, Foam Hi-Vis Caddis

Nymphs: 20 Inchers, Rubberleg Stones (Black/Brown or Tan/Yellow), Point Drake, Jiggy Flashtop Princes, Chewy Cranefly, Mop Fly, TB Electric Caddis, Sili-Worms, Flashtail Eggs

Streamers: Dungeons, Fire Breathing Dragon, Clousers, Double Bunnies
